The basic argument for initiating such a Quality Policy is that Surya World as the premier Centre for Excellence is a value centered educational institution with a social conscience and dedicated to the enhancement of knowledge through teaching training and research. It is value based in the sense that it is guided by certain core human beliefs. It is value driven in the sense that it seeks to add value to every person, process and product that emanates from this institution. Some of the connecting loci of quality are:

Education for a Changing World
The academic inputs given by faculty to the students and the infrastructure support that goes with it will enable students at Surya World to develop the required knowledge, skills and self-confidence so that they make an active contribution to a rapidly changing world. It will encourage independent thoughts, a habit of critique and a commitment to learning throughout their lives.

Sustaining High Quality Teaching with it an Active Research Environment
SW will continually adapt its curriculum so that it is informed by the most advanced research, based on material that combines new and traditional methods and resources and gives the students the opportunities and skills to create new knowledge themselves. The institution will actively respond to changing needs of postgraduate education and training, developing flexible and technologically supported postgraduate programs to meet the demands of a changing market and social environment.

Professional Development
In order to provide this dynamic and developing education, the SW's teaching and support staff needs to constantly update and develop their skills in academic subjects. An explicit, systematic, managed process of professional staff development for teaching teams as well as individuals will best achieve the preset goals.

Quality Assurance & Enhancement
SW will assure the quality of its educational provision by identifying clear lines of responsibility within its revised management structure and by creating the expectation that excellent and innovative teaching is a highly valued professional responsibility, essential to the institution's standing and reputation. Surya World will continue to develop clear quality frameworks informed by best practice disseminated by professional and external bodies against which teaching teams can assess their performance. The ongoing quality review takes into account:
  • Best practices in assessment and teaching appropriate to a research-led environment.
  • Faculty restructuring.
  • Data and information collected from student feedback.
  • Implemented policy for the Professional Development of all academic and professional service staff that includes guidance on appointment, probation and mentoring, appraisal, work load allocation, career management; develop clear promotion criteria that recognize and reward leadership and excellent teaching performance. Establish a defined set of measurable criteria that staff can use to provide evidence of their achievement.
