Overview

In spite of the slow down in U.S. and other world economies, there is dearth of Software professionals all over the world. The globalization impact is more in software industry, which has achieved highest mobility of human capital in the present decade. Thus, MCA course aims at producing quality software professionals with the updated curriculum to fulfill the needs of software industries. The broad objective of the MCA is to prepare graduate students for productive careers in software industry/academia by providing an outstanding environment for teaching and research in the core and emerging areas of the discipline. The thrust of the programme is on giving the students a thorough and sound background in theoretical and application-oriented courses relevant to the latest computer software development. The programme emphasizes the application of software technology to solve mathematical,computing, communications/networking and commercial problems. This Master's Degree Programme has been designed with a semester approach in mind. The first year courses are aimed at skills development in computers using various technologies, the second year is more focused on core courses providing a conceptual framework and the third year provides the specialization and the project work.

Admission Procedure

 

The admission to this course will be based on merit in the state level entrance test, Punjab Admission to MCA Common Aptitude Test (PAM-CAT-2011) to be conducted by University, provided the candidate is eligible for admission. The candidate seeking admission to MCA should meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • All those candidates who have passed any recognized bachelor’s degree of 3 year duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 School Level or have passed BCA course of minimum three year duration from any recognized University.

 

The eligibility for admission shall be as per the notification of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) from time to time.


A limited number of seats are also filled through management quota based on-

  • PAM-CAT-2011 

OR

  • Merit in Qualifying Exam( Percentage in Graduation)

  • 85% seats for Punjab residents.

  • 15% other state quota.

  • Vacant seats if any are open to all

Note :

  • The fee structure is subject to change as per Punjab Government notification from time to time in this regard.

  • The fee is to be deposited within 7 days of start of session, except for 1st semester.

 

 

The above fee does not include Hostel Related Fee & Mess Charges etc.

Note:

  • Hostel charges shall be charged at the time of admission and in the beginning of the semester for all other semesters. All other fee and charges have to be paid at the time of admission.

  • Fee/Hostel Charges/Mess Charges once paid to the Institute cannot be refunded / adjusted in any circumstances except the Security

 

Security shall be refunded on completion of the course subject to the clearance of all pending dues.
