Admissions to B.Tech are made once a year in the month of July based on rank of candidates in AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination), conducted by CBSE and a limited number of seats are filled under management quota for which admission are done based on merit in qualifying exam. The normal duration of B.Tech. programme is 8 semesters.

The Institute follows a specialized credit based semester system for its academic programmes. This system allows greater freedom to individual programmes to tailor it to their specific needs. The students are required to follow certain regulations and procedures to meet the academic requirements of each semester.

The broad objectives of the M.Tech programmes

• To develop the engineering /technical manpower of the highest quality to cater to the needs of industry, R&D organizations and educational institutions.
• To develop advanced design capability among students.
• To develop a deep understanding of the area of specialization in the students.
• To develop innovative ability in the students to solve new problems, and a capacity to learn continually and interact with multidisciplinary groups.
• To develop among students a capacity for free and objective enquiry, awareness and sensitivity to the needs and aspirations of the society.

With these objectives in view, the programmes are designed to have courses of study & thesis through which a student may develop his/her concepts and skills.

The admissions to M.Tech programme is considered after conducting test and/or interview.

The normal duration of M.Tech programme is 2-years (4-semesters). The Institute follows a credit based semester system for its academic programmes. This system allows greater freedom to the individual to tailor the programme to his/her specific needs/aspirations.

The 2-year (4 semesters) M.Tech. programmes are available in following disciplines:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Electronics & Communication Engineering.

Eligibility criteria for all courses is according to PTU rules.

For admission to B. Tech. course, the candidate must have appeared in AIEEE-2011(All India Engineering Entrance Exam) conducted by CBSE, New Delhi and counseling done by Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. Admission shall be made on the basis of AIEEE rank. The candidate must also fulfill the following conditions:

• Chemistry
• Biology
• Biotechnology
• Computer Science

OR

Any such examination from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education

OR

Have passed two years certificate course from Sant Longowal School of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET) shall be eligible.

A limited number of students are also admitted to the course against the management seats.
Management Quota Seats (33% of the intake) : As per the merit of

• Rank of A.I.E.E.E.
• Marks of 10+2.

• 85% seats for Punjab residents.
• Biology
• Biotechnology
• Computer Science

Note:

• The fee structure is subject to change as per Punjab Government notification from time to time in this regard.
• The fee is to be deposited within 7 days of start of session, except for 1st semester.

MODE OF PAYMENT

Hostel Fee Includes

• Accommodation. One (Bed, Almirah, Table,Chair)
• Food (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks)
• Water & Electricity Supply

Note:

• Hostel charges shall be charged at the time of admission and in the beginning of the semester for all other semesters. All other fee and charges have to be paid at the time of admission.
• Fee/Hostel Charges/Mess Charges once paid to the Institute cannot be refunded / adjusted in any circumstances except the Security
• Security shall be refunded on completion of the course subject to the clearance of all pending dues.
